From Miami to Key West

If you only have a weekend, set out early Friday morning from Miami’s cosmopolitan scene toward Key West. The drive takes about four hours, offering spectacular views as you leave the Turnpike and enter the incredible “Overseas Highway.” This 182-kilometer engineering marvel stretches through the southern tip of Florida, crossing 42 bridges over mangroves, keys, and small beach towns that provide everything a traveler might need.

Key West offers a wide range of accommodations and is perfect for a lively night out on the famous Duval Street, which is lined with shops, restaurants, and bars with live music.

Key West’s most famous spots include the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, which attracts over 150,000 visitors yearly, and the Southernmost Point—a buoy marking the southernmost tip of the continental United States and the closest point to Cuba, just 90 miles away.
